How do we know if a particular difficult situation is from God or Satan? Or does it really matter?

But doesn't God allow situations on us? I guess situations that draw you to seek Him or return to Him and situations where lessons are evident, are from God (which is why a close relationship with Him will help you understand more) and situations that simply seem to wanna cause nothing more than harm are from the evil one. Then again, but doesn't God allow situations on us?

I really like this Ps Chee Min. Too often I see leaders, myself included sometimes, putting the needs & leadership of family after ministry needs in church, community & workplace. It's clear that our family, wife & children are our ministries, in fact the dearest & most important. If we don't minister to the ones we love, the ones we call flesh & blood, & we minister to the ones outside the family even more, would we be guilty of hypocrisy? If every father loves, ministers & disciples his wife & children, there is a lot less ministering the church as a structure needs to do!!

Good point. Yes, God's Spirit dwells within us, but there is a two-fold work of the Spirit of God-inward & outward. God's Spirit is not a physical entity that once inside a person or group of persons cannot be "outside" at the same time. A simple analogy will help understand this: suppose we submerge a sponge in a tank of water. Once submerged, the water is inside the sponge but that does not mean we cannot ask for more water to be poured into a tank so that other "sponges" may also be soaked in the Spirit. Blessings.
