KEY THOT: According to the psalmist, worshipers are blessed people. They experience God's favour. They are rejoicing all day long. They experience divine vindication as God stands by their side to execute His justice. They experience God's splendor and strength. Because they are in God's favour, they are always successful in their endeavor. Worship not only delights God, it is also the means whereby He blesses us. To stand in God's presence with songs of praise and worship is to know His favour and blessing continually.
Worship is a blessing if we learn how to enter into the Holy of holies. Prayer meetings should not be boring but exciting, for God reveals His glory and His favour when we truly worship Him. Jesus says, "But a time is coming - and now is here - when the true worshipers will worship the Father in spirit and truth, for the Father seeks such people to be his worshipers" (John 4:23). The kind of worship that the Father seeks is one that is Spirit-filled and Word-soaked.
But more than worship, God is seeking for worshipers so that He can bless them. As we bless God by praising His name, He returns the favour by blessing us. May we desire to worship Jesus more and more so that we may be carriers of His presence and glory wherever we go, that His fragrance might be the spiritual perfume we wear daily.
Abba-Father, may You teach us to worship You more and more in Spirit and Truth so that we might bless You and be blessed in the process. Amen.
