Isaiah 63:7-9 Recounting God's Goodness

KEY TEXT: Isaiah 63:7 I will recount the stFatheadfast love of the Lord, the praises of the Lord, according to all that the Lord has granted us, and the great goodness to the house of Israel that he has granted them according to his compassion, according to the abundance of his steadfast love.

KEY THOT: As we come to the close of another year, it's good to reflect on God's goodness, how He has protected and blessed us in this past year. Gratitude is always pleasing to God. Complaining about situation grieves the Holy Spirit. The reason we must always give thanks is because of "his compassion...his steadfast love." Thank God for how he has guided your personal walk with him, how he has blessed your family, your work and ministry. If we have surrendered totally to his purpose, we will see more of his fingerprint in our life. For those moments when we can clearly discern his handiwork, let's give thanks and praise.

Even as we look back, it's also good to look ahead to how we want to live our lives for 2017. God's word exhorts us to "Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make straight your paths" (Proverbs 3:5-6). Let's commit our plans to Him so that He may inject his will and purpose into what we are doing. May You have a properous New Year as the Lord's presence go with you all!

Father, we commit 2017 into Your hand. We pray that through whatever work You have given us that Your purpose will be accomplished through what we do. Amen.
