Proverbs 24: More Benefits of Wisdom

Prov 24:3-6 By wisdom a house is built, and through understanding it is established; through knowledge its rooms are filled with rare and beautiful treasures.
Prov 24:5 A wise man has great power, and a man of knowledge increases strength; for waging war you need guidance, and for victory many advisers.
Prov 24:13-14 Eat honey, my son, for it is good; honey from the comb is sweet to your taste. Know also that wisdom is sweet to your soul; if you find it, there is a future hope for you, and your hope will not be cut off.

Just as God by His wisdom created the world, so by the same divine wisdom, God has enabled us to build homes, acquire power and strength to win the marketplace battles and establish our future.

  • Home Life (Prov 24:3-6 By wisdom a house is built, and through understanding it is established; through knowledge its rooms are filled with rare and beautiful treasures):

By wisdom, we build homes that are filled with rare and beautiful treasures. The greatest treasure of the home is the family life. Building a great and godly family life requires God's wisdom. Many family life is undermined because of lack of wisdom in dealing with spouses and children. But the promise is that if we have God's wisdom imparted to us through His indwelling Spirit, our homes will be filled with rare and beautiful "treasures" - namely God-honoring children.
  • Work Life (Prov 24:5 A wise man has great power, and a man of knowledge increases strength; for waging war you need guidance, and for victory many advisers.)

Life is a series of battles with challenges, especially those found in the workplaces. The workplace is like the battlefield and we need power and strength to persevere in our work until we achieve victory. The competition will be there, but the wise will have power and strength of the Lord to sustain him in the marketplace battles.
  • Future Life (Prov 24:13-14 Eat honey, my son, for it is good; honey from the comb is sweet to your taste. Know also that wisdom is sweet to your soul; if you find it, there is a future hope for you, and your hope will not be cut off):

The current economic and political environment has created a sense of foreboding and fear in many people about the future. But for those who have God's wisdom, the future is always filled with possibilities not problems. Hope is a powerful attitude in uncertain times, for the wise see opportunities in every problem but the fool see problems in every opportunity.
True wisdom is from the Lord and His Spirit. As we walk by the Spirit and remain open to His promptings, we will be able to make wise decisions that will build up our homes, our careers and our future prospects.

Father, thank You that we don't have to operate in the blind because through Your indwelling Spirit, You have granted us revelation and wisdom -- revelation to know what to do and wisdom to know how to do it. Amen
